Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul has a grade two groin strain and will not travel to Pittsburgh for the beginning of a three-game road trip on Wednesday. Head coach Randy Carlyle announced the news at the Leafs morning skate on Tuesday. Carlyle told reporters it would be a "miracle" for him to play on the weekend. Peter Holland looks to be the beneficiary of Lupuls injury. Holland was a healthy scratch Monday night against Columbus, but moved onto the third line at practice Tuesday The Leafs road trip continues Friday in Buffalo and Saturday in Montreal. Lupul was injured during Mondays loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. He appeared to hurt himself in the second period during a battle in the corner with Jackets defenceman Ryan Murray. Lupul went to the dressing room after the play and did not return to the game. The 30-year-old has eight goals and seven assists in 22 games this season. He missed two games with a bruised foot at the end of October. Lupul also missed 25 games last season with a forearm injury.
