FIFA announced on Thursday that it had rejected the suspension appeal of Uruguay and Liverpool forward Luis Suarez. On June 26, FIFA banned Suarez for nine international matches for his bite to the shoulder of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguays June 24 1-0 group stage win over the Azzurri.
